3/3/1976: Robbie Simpson
Happy birthday to Darren Anderton and Robbie Simpson – the Pompey players from the Blues’ past born on this day.
Admittedly I didn’t really get to see a lot of Anderton when he was at Pompey but saw a bit. However, I saw plenty of him for Spurs and England after.
I do remember Simpson being around at the time of Luke Nightingale. It was one or the other who would get a chance with Alan Ball giving it to Nightingale – no idea what happened to Simpson?

I missed the games in 2015 and 2014 but can claim four of the five before that. I was at Fratton Park for the defeat against Middlesbrough in 2012 along with the two Chelsea defeats – in 2009 and in 2007 – at Fratton too. Finally I was at another game at the Park with Bury that ended in a draw back in 1998.
