Another feature, again courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, sees us look at those Pompey personalities – past or present – who have a birthday on this day.

3/12/1955: Gordon Bartlett

From the Ed

Happy birthday to Gordon Bartlett – the Pompey player from the Blues’ past born on this day.

Bartlett was before my time; I do recall him at other clubs in the early 1990s though, Notts County during their FA Cup adventures springs to mind. However, he’s someone known to my old man as they were both Pompey schoolboys at the same time with him – my old man – good friends with his brother, Richie Bartlett I think he said he was called.

Now onto the games previously played.

Played – 14
Won – 2
Drawn – 4
Lost – 8

Not too many games played on this day in recent years but I’ve taken in the one, which was the most recent, a win against Coventry in 2011 at Fratton Park.

What are your memories of Bartlett from his Pompey days? Also have you taken in any of the games previously played today – if so what are the memories from them too?
