Another feature, again courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, sees us look at those Pompey personalities – past or present – who have a birthday on this day.

26/3/1914: Alan Pringle
26/3/1921: Ted Platt

From the Ed

Happy birthday to Alan Pringle and Ted Platt – the Pompey players from the Blues’ past born on this day.

Pringle and Platt were well before my time and not former players I can claim to know anything about either.

Now onto the games previously played.

Played – 14
Won – 6
Drawn – 1
Lost – 7

Little in it, but defeats still outweigh anything else traditionally on this day, which, given Pompey haven’t played a game on this day in over 20 years isn’t really a surprise, I draw a blank on personally.

What are your memories Pringle and/or Platt – then again both are almost certainly before the time of anyone reading – from their Pompey days? Also have you taken in any of the games previously played today – if so what are the memories from them too?

PLAY UP POMPEY
