Another feature, again courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, sees us look at those Pompey personalities – past or present – who have a birthday on this day.

25/11/1980: Aaron Mokoena

From the Ed

Happy birthday to Aaron Mokoena – the Pompey players from the Blues’ past born on this day.

I, as much as he wasn’t a world-beater by any means, always felt Mokoena was committed to Pompey; his problem was he wasn’t ever a ‘technically gifted’ footballer and some forgot that. The South African is remembered pretty well and have no ill feeling, which I know some did, towards him.

Now onto the games previously played.

Played – 10
Won – 3
Drawn – 1
Lost – 6

In all honesty cannot recall too many of the games we’ve previously played on this day, we’ve not had one in 15-years now, with it one I haven’t managed to take a in a game. However, that will change today as I’m at Fratton for the visit of Plymouth.

What are your memories of Mokoena from their Pompey days? Also have you taken in any of the games previously played today – if so what are the memories from them too?
