Another feature, again courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, sees us look at those Pompey personalities – past or present – who have a birthday on this day.

23/4/1919: Phil Rookes
23/4/1921: Charlie Vaughan
23/4/1937: Robert Campbell

From the Ed

Happy birthday to Phil Rookes, Charlie Vaughan and Robert Campbell – the Pompey players from the Blues’ past born on this day.

Rookes, Vaughan and Campbell were all well before my time with all three unknown to me too.

Now onto the games previously played.

Played – 16
Won – 9
Drawn – 5
Lost – 2

What a great day as over half the games played have been won, only two lost.

I didn’t, for whatever reason; take in the win over Wycombe in 2016 so can only claim the draw with Swansea back in 2011, which took place at Fratton Park.

What are your memories of Rookes, Vaughan and/or Campbell – I would think all three would be too early for anyone though? – from their Pompey days? Also, have you taken in any of the games previously played today – if so what are the memories of them too?

PLAY UP POMPEY
