Another feature, again courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, sees us look at those Pompey personalities – past or present – who have a birthday on this day.

21/9/1982: Rowan Vine
21/9/1993: Andy Higgins

From the Ed

Happy birthday to Rowan Vine and Andy Higgins – the Pompey players from the Blues’ past born on this day.

To be honest, I cannot say I heard of Higgins, let alone know of him from his time at the club.

However, Vine is recalled, not that we saw too much of him at Fratton Park. Therefore he is remembered more for clubs he played for after the Blues, where he’s generally not made the impact it would have been thought he would

Now onto the games previously played.

Played – 16
Won – 5
Drawn – 4
Lost – 8

Not many games played but half of them have been lost.

From these I can claim the last two, which have both been among those defeats suffered and both at Fratton Park – a defeat to Fleetwood in 2013 and a League Cup loss in 2010 against Leicester.

What are your memories of Vine and/or Higgins from their Pompey days? Also have you taken in any of the games previously played today – if so what are the memories from them too?
