21/8/1975: Paul Ritchie
Happy birthday to Edward Robson, James Martin, Hamilton Thorp and Paul Ritchie – the Pompey players from the Blues’ past born on this day.
Robson and Robson were well before my time, well, that of anyone of course. The other two are recalled but I did not see too much of them, if anything in fact.
I recall Thorp by ‘reputation’ alone …one of those to forget though really. Ritchie came in on loan didn’t he but I cannot recall personally seeing him play for us?
Now onto the games previously played.

Drawn – 3
Lost – 7
Three of the last five games for me with all but one of them away from Fratton Park with the most recent one, a draw at Colchester in 2012. Other games were the defeat at Preston in 2010 and the one at Fratton I went to in 1999 – a win over Stockport.
What are your memories of Robson, Martin – both too early for anyone of course, Thorp and/or Ritchie from their Pompey days? Also have you taken in any of the games previously played today – if so what are the memories from them too?
