After a quiet, too quiet, period of ‘rumours’ not to mention ‘non-transfer’ activity, these ‘links’ are coming thick and fast again!
Steve Cotterill said earlier in the week that he was ‘hopeful’ that David Lampitt would be able to tie up some deals this week, but will he?
We have seen Grant Leadbitter ‘strongly linked’, with a £2m signing possible for the Ipswich Captain?
Other ‘links’ have seen Ryan Shotton, again, and Mark Marshall – not sure who he is though to be honest – linked with moves to PFC.
Another one that The news says is coming from Norway is an interest in Bari’s Norwegian striker Erik Huseklepp – again not someone that I know anything about, but I am told ‘he looks good…’
A ‘free agent’ that it is ‘said’ we will bring in is another former Ipswich man, experienced and well travelled, 32-year-old Kevin Lisbie. Not exactly the man I would have been thinking of but beggars cannot be choosers can they!
The last, and interesting, ‘rumour’ is of a possible swap deal with QPR for Tal Ben-Haim with Lee Cook coming the other way?
I never thought I would say this but the recent signs are that we would ‘miss’ TBH, although getting his wages off the wage bill are needed and ‘if’ Cook could stay fit, easier said than done, then the winger would be a good arrival.
Plenty to sink our teeth into today, although what we really want is arrivals not rumours!
Something, not that I am trying to ‘get hopes up’, we ‘may’ need to take into account is just because we do not hear anything today it does not mean no movement is made?
