Another feature, again courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, sees us look at those Pompey personalities – past or present – who have a birthday on this day…

19/5/1989: Alex Cisak

From the Ed

Happy birthday to Alex Cisak – the Pompey player from the Blues’ past born on this day.

Cisak had a brief loan with Pompey – sure this was from Oldham – playing a limited number of games before he was recalled. Thought him a decent enough keeper who always played well against us for Leyton Orient, a club he was relegated to the National League with at the end of the 2016-17 season.

Now onto the games previously played.

Played – 1
Won – 0
Drawn – 1
Lost – 0

The one and only game today ended in a draw, which I think is one a large number will recall.

I wasn’t at Fratton Park for the 2-2 draw with Leicester in 1993 – I recall listening on the radio though whilst playing on my old Spectrum, which I thought was the coolest thing around at the time. Of course, there wasn’t anything cool about the fact Pompey lost out to the Foxes 3-2 on aggregate in this play-off semi-finals as a season the Blues deserved promotion from ended in heartbreak.

What are your memories of Cisak from his Pompey days? Also have you taken in any of the games previously played today – if so what are the memories from them too?
