Another feature, again courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, sees us look at those Pompey personalities – past or present – who have a birthday on this day.

19/02/1981: Nicky Shorey
19/02/1989: Shirley Abbott

From the Ed

Shorey I remember well from his footballing career, which saw him represent England, obviously long before he played for Pompey, where he did well enough in fairness, despite being used in an unusual midfield role at times.

However, Abbott seems to completely pass me by, cannot recall them at all.

Now onto the games previously played.

Played – 8
Won – 6
Drawn – 1
Lost – 1

This has been a great day, but in terms of my actual attendance of games I can only claim the one – this a victory over Barnsley at Fratton Park back in 2011.

What are your memories of Shorey and/or Abbott from their Pompey days? Also have you taken in any of the games previously played today – if so what are the memories from them too?
