Another feature, again courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, sees us look at those Pompey personalities – past or present – who have a birthday on this day.

19/8/1996: Jack Whatmough

From the Ed

Happy birthday to Jack Whatmough – the Pompey player from the Blues’ past born on this day.

I wouldn’t have thought many of us wouldn’t know who he is and I’d be amazed if we haven’t seen Whatmough play – something he could well do this afternoon when Walsall visit Fratton Park?

Now onto the games previously played, obviously ahead of the Saddlers.

Played – 15
Won – 6
Drawn – 4
Lost – 5

Plenty of games played and Pompey have won more than anything else so a decent day – can it continue this afternoon?

I remember a number of the games but my previous – I’ll be at Fratton this afternoon though – is limited to the last two only, the win against Northampton in 2014 and the defeat at Birmingham in 2009 for a midweek trip to St Andrew’s.

What are your memories of Whatmough from his Pompey days? Also have you taken in any of the games previously played today – if so what are the memories from them too?
