Another feature, again courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, sees us look at those Pompey personalities – past or present – who have a birthday on this day.

18/3/1937: Harry Middleton
18/3/1984: Gary Roberts

From the Ed

Happy birthday to Harry Middleton and Gary Roberts – the Pompey players from the Blues’ past born on this day.

Middleton was well before my time but I think it safe to say we all know Roberts. Could he have offered something this season? Maybe, maybe not but the facts of the matter are he was allowed to move on – he played his part in helping us win League Two though for certain.

Now onto the games previously played

Played – 14
Won – 5
Drawn – 4
Lost – 5

Not really too much in the games on this day. I remember that West Ham game over a decade ago but wasn’t at it, but can claim the win against Crewe at Gresty Road back in 2000.

What are your memories Middleton – probably too early I would think – and/or Roberts from their Pompey days? Also have you taken in any of the games previously played today – if so what are the memories from them too?
