Another feature, again courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, sees us look at those Pompey personalities – past or present – who have a birthday on this day.

17/11/1922: Jack Froggatt
17/11/1938: Brian Carter

From the Ed

Happy birthday to Jack Froggatt and Brian Carter – the Pompey players from the Blues’ past born on this day.

Both well before my time – probably that of any to be honest – but are not completely unknown. However, Carter isn’t the one I’m familiar with but Froggatt is, by name anyway, is, in fact this is a famous name in football really.

Now onto the games previously played.

Played – 11
Won – 5
Drawn – 2
Lost – 4

Not many played in the past 25 years or so at all really but – not that I can recall much about it – I can claim the most recent as I was at Fratton Park for the defeat against Doncaster in 2012.

What are your memories of Froggatt and/or Carter – I am convinced both would be too early for anyone? – from their Pompey days? Also have you taken in any of the games previously played today – if so what are the memories from them too?

PLAY UP POMPEY
