Another feature, again courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, sees us look at those Pompey personalities – past or present – who have a birthday on this day.

16/11/1902: David Thackeray
16/11/16/11/1989: Amine Linganzi

From the Ed

Happy birthday to David Thackeray and Amine Linganzi – the Pompey players from the Blues’ past born on this day.

Thackeray is a name probably known to some, not me though to be honest. In any case he was playing well before anyone reading this so he wouldn’t have been seen – Amine Linganzi would have.

I like Linganzi, didn’t think I would, but I did and he was perhaps a little hard done by not to get a new deal at the end of the League Two title winning season.

Now onto the games previously played.

Played – 13
Won – 7
Drawn – 2
Lost – 4

Not too many played in recent years but do recall those played in the last 20 odd years but haven’t been to a game myself with the most recent at Wimbledon, the defeat in 2013, one to definitely forget.

What are your memories of Thackeray – clearly too early for anyone – and/or Linganzi from their Pompey days? Also have you taken in any of the games previously played today – if so what are the memories from them too?
