Another feature, again courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, sees us look at those Pompey personalities – past or present – who have a birthday on this day.

13/11/1964: Paul Wimbleton
13/11/1982: Johannes Ertl

From the Ed

Happy birthday to Paul Wimbleton and Johnny Ertl – the Pompey players from the Blues’ past born on this day.

Wimbleton isn’t someone I saw play much, if at all, from his time with Pompey but we’ll all know Ertl and recall him pretty fondly even if he sometimes wasn’t always appreciated for what he did as a player, which he was for what he did off the field without a doubt.

Now onto the games previously played.

Played – 12
Won – 2
Drawn – 2
Lost – 8

I remember a few of the games, including the Southampton defeat in 2004 but have only been to only one, which isn’t too surprising given we’ve only played twice since 1982.

The one I’ve taken in was a defeat at Fratton Park against Doncaster in 2010.

What are your memories of Wimbleton and/or Ertl from their Pompey days? Also have you taken in any of the games previously played today – if so what are the memories from them too?

PLAY UP POMPEY
