Another feature, again courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, sees us look at those Pompey personalities – past or present – who have a birthday on this day.

11/1/1925: Jimmy Scoular
11/1/1988: Simon Ferry

From the Ed

Happy birthday to Jimmy Scoular and Simon Ferry – the Pompey players from the Blues’ past born on this day.

Scoular is a name I know of very well but he was before my time so I didn’t see him play.

However, I remember Ferry well and thought he was a decent enough player. Couldn’t keep himself fit though could he…it was still a surprise when he left out of the blue for Dundee – I think it was – wasn’t it?

Now onto the games previously played.

Played – 13
Won – 5
Drawn – 2
Lost – 6

This is again a day we’ve not seen too many games in recent times but I do recall some of them – not managed one though.

What are your memories of Scoular – probably too early for anyone – and/or Ferry from their Pompey days? Also have you taken in any of the games previously played today – if so what are the memories from them too?

PLAY UP POMPEY
