Another feature, again courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, sees us look at those Pompey personalities – past or present – who have a birthday on this day.

11/8/1924: Thomas Brown

From the Ed

Happy birthday to Thomas Brown – the Pompey player from the Blues’ past born on this day.

Not someone I’m too familiar with as Brown was well before my Pompey days – I’m guessing that of all reading this – and to be honest I also cannot say I know anything about him either.

Now onto the games previously played.

Played – 4
Won – 1
Drawn – 3
Lost – 0

Another day where we’ve not played too many but also gone through it without a defeat and I can recall the games against Derby and Wolves but have only managed the one, the League Cup win at Plymouth in 1998.

This was the game where I first made contact with the late Ken Malley and a number of the others in the Devon Blues… this seems like only yesterday.

What are your memories of Brown – too early I would think – from his Pompey days? Also have you taken in any of the games previously played today – if so what are the memories from them too?

PLAY UP POMPEY!
