Another feature, again courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, sees us look at those Pompey personalities – past or present – who have a birthday on this day.

10/1/1926: Bill Spence
10/1/1943: Redvern Edmunds
10/1/1951: Graham Lloyd
10/1/1965: Martin Kuhl

From the Ed

Happy birthday to Ike Bill Spence, Redvern Edmunds, Graham Lloyd and Martin Kuhl – the Pompey players from the Blues’ past born on this day.

Spence and Edmunds – especially the former – are well before my time and not really known to me. I cannot say I’m familiar with Lloyd either to be honest.

However, Kuhl is a player I recall well from his time with Pompey. I didn’t much see him play as I wasn’t a regular traveller for most of his time with the Blues but saw enough and know of him well.

Now onto the games previously played.

Played – 13
Won – 8
Drawn – 2
Lost – 3

Not too many games played in recent times and as much as I can recall the three most recent – certainly the Manchester City win from 2004 – I cannot claim attendance of a game today.

What are your memories of Spence – I would think too early for anyone, Edmunds, Lloyd and/or Kuhl from their Pompey days? Also have you taken in any of the games previously played today – if so what are the memories from them too?

PLAY UP POMPEY
