Another feature, again courtesy of our sister site PompeyRama, sees us look at those Pompey personalities – past or present – who have a birthday on this day.

From the Ed

Happy birthday to Bill Thompson, William Albury and Andy Cook – the Pompey players from the Blues’ past born on this day.

Albury and Thompson aren’t too familiar to me as those two were well before my time following Pompey, in fact I dare say before the time of many to be honest? Cook is one I can only really remember, albeit it vaguely, by name as cannot recall personally seeing him play for the Blues?

Now onto the games previously played.

Played – 4
Won – 1
Drawn – 3
Lost – 0

I was at the win over Nottingham Forest in 2002 – the first game of the 2002-03 season; certainly first Fratton Park one of it – but that game at the Park is the only one I have taken in on this day.

However, I do remember the Accrington game being shown live on sky sports and watching that draw in 2013, a game we SHOULD have won really, which was common from that period with the Blues really.

What are your memories of Thompson, Albury – probably too early for anyone – and/or Cook from their Pompey days? Also have you taken in any of the games previously played today – if so what are the memories from them too?

PLAY UP POMPEY!
