Dave Nugent took only 5 minutes to make an impact as a substitute for us against Ipswich yesterday, scoring the winning goal that saw us into round 4 – for the next 15 minutes or so after that he was almost unplayable…

His movement, mobility and pace – which is lightening compare to Kanu – caused plenty of problems for the Ipswich defence, and now finally it looks as though Harry Redknapp is prepared to give him his chance after telling sky sports: ‘this will do his confidence some good. It is up to him now.

‘It has been difficult for him to get into the team, but he will get some games now and we can see what he can do.

‘Hopefully he can prove a success’.

He can only prove a success if he is given a chance, something which he has not been given before – with this now almost forced upon Redknapp lets hope that he gets the chance he deserves and can ‘prove a success’…
