Naylor-made For Portsmouth

|

Well, it certainly appears I picked a decent day to have a little free time and a day off work – not that I get to chose when it comes to the latter, to be honest – as I was finally able to add some thoughts on the signing of Craig MacGillivray, which has now been followed up with the addition of Tom Naylor.

Naylor, a free agent having come to the end of his Burton contact, has signed a three-year deal with Pompey.

He’s another player I definitely know of by name, but can’t say I’ve seen him on a regular basis as a footballer. However, the local Nottingham media certainly rate Naylor highly and the suggestion from a reporter is the Blues have managed to capture a highly sought after footballer ahead of other clubs.

Securing Naylor, 26, has further added to the midfield options Kenny Jackett can turn to, which should now mean we’re pretty well stocked in the middle of the park. In fact, the squad looks as if it’s beginning to be where we’d want it to be, being another player or two from completion.

I don’t know about you, but I’m happy with the business we’ve so far conducted. If we’re able to retain our main players an already decent squad has been further improved and that excites me ahead of the 2018-19 campaign, which will soon be here.
