The majority of these thoughts from Levi Kushnir, in The News, ‘should’ be words we, on the whole, want to be hearing, right?

Kushnir said: ‘we were on the verge of losing everything. What was before in Portsmouth will not be in the future as long as we are owners.

‘There will not be a shopping spree of expensive players, taking commitments on a company knowing it will not be able to be settled.’

Quite clearly we need ‘some’ investment in the squad but ‘massive investment’ is not something that we should have been expecting, or indeed wanting, because, well come on, we all know where this left us last time…

It was ‘unsustainable’ – ensuring that we are a sustainable entity is the thing we now need more than anything else.

Balram Chainrai, maybe slightly less fortunate with what he has said, said: ‘both of us got stuck in this situation and the both of us became accidental owners.

‘If we get out of this without getting hurt, we’ll consider ourselves lucky.’

This makes it sound very much as though they got the club ‘by accident’ and had ‘no option’…

Although lets face it though, that is exactly what happened. It was them or nothing, and I we have to be thankfully really that it was them, as we live on as a result!

It always has been, and always will be, their intention to get back what they put in and they will remain keen to do that – as long as this is done without further harm to the club, so be it…

I know I have said it before, as have others, but if they can do what is needed to stabilise us, yet still get out with what is ‘owed’ to them, and carry out what is needed to be carried out from month-to-month, this will more than do.

Of course we could do with a player or two, but worse case scenario is we can work something out to get another loanee in, or ideally a ‘cheapy’ or ‘freebie’ that can come in on a ‘reasonable wage’.

These are things that ‘should’ be possible without stretching resources too far…
