Milan Mandaric has jumped to the defence of Harry Redknapp claiming that Harry isn`t even involved in transfer deals.

A newspaper this morning have claimed that Portsmouth are one of eight clubs to be named in the Stevens enquiry.

Milan had said;

‘It’s upsetting because I worked with Harry Redknapp for seven-and-a-half years and not once was he involved in doing a deal,’ he told the News of the World.

‘Every single one was conducted by myself and my chief executive.

‘Harry’s only involvement came when I asked for his opinion on the price being asked for a player and nine times out of 10 he would say: ‘It’s too high’.

‘I dealt with many agents and managers and everything was done in the correct manner. All the money we paid agents went through the correct channels.

‘I was shocked by the entirely unjustified half-suggestions posed by the Panorama programme towards Harry. He is my friend and I can’t stand the rumours and innuendo surrounding him.

‘All he ever did was to tell me the players he wanted and I took it from there. Harry is as honest as the day is long and all the bar-room tittle-tattle is unfair.’
