‘Asmir Begovic was the man of the match against Burnley’, not my vote, yours – although these findings from pompeyrug’s poll are thoughts that I agree with to be honest…

Begovic did not have a lot to do really did he, lets be honest, but what he did he did VERY well. When he came for crosses he got them, and he made not 1 but 2 fantastic saves – and I mean really fantastic saves.

The 1st was good, but sat in the North Lower when that 2nd effort was struck it looked destined for one area only – the back of the net but the Bosnian made a wonderful save. As it is I do not think that EITHER save got the credit that it deserved from those showing highlight packages on match of the day and sky sports, but hey ho!

But for those saves we would almost have certainly been beaten, and that would – for me – have meant certain relegation, as it is I must admit that I am still 60:40, at best, that we will go down to tell the truth, lets hope that Sunderland this weekend can help raise my optimism levels…

I think that Marc Wilson also deserves a mention as the youngest member, and least experienced, of the back 4 had a really good game and if you did not know differently you would have thought he was the senior member. He was solid, bar that one 1st half slip and if he drops out against Sunderland when Younes Kaboul returns instead of the poor Tal Ben-Haim I would be very disappointed.

  • What the poll asked – Man of the match against Burnley?

  • How you voted – Begovic 64%, Sub – Kanu (58) 14%, Boateng (90) 7%, Wilson 5%, Hreidarsson 5%, Ben-Haim 2%, Yebda 2%, O’Hara 1%, Brown 0%, Finnan 0%, Smith (58) 0%, Dindane 0%, Sub – Mullins (90) 0%

Before we move on what are your thoughts on what the last poll concluded? You know what to do, thoughts below please guys…
