We all support Pompey; we all have an opinion on the club so why not share this? Vital Pompey is looking for answers to a few simple questions, which pompeymart1965 has.

Vital Pompey prides itself on the interaction we have with our members.

We like to think that we rarely claim to speak, or even say that we do speak, for all Pompey fans and instead look to gage a wider opinion from our own thoughts shared in that attempt to get the wider views shared by our fellow fans!

As such we welcomed answers to some (ideally all) of the following questions, which pompeymart1965 was happy to do.

Here is what they said…

1) Overall thoughts of the 2010/11 season?
Mixed view here as I believe, with a little more ambition and financial back up, we could have got involved at the very top end BUT AFTER THE PROBLEMS OF THE EARLY SEASON I am quite happy to try to build from where we are now.

2) Who was the player sold or released (in the summer of 2010 or during the season) that we most missed in 2010/11?
I might be wrong here but I always loved Jamie O’Hara. I know it was not feasible from a business standpoint to have him in the Championship but he would have made such a difference.

3) And the player sold or released (in the summer of 2010 or during the season) that we least missed?
Basinas – for obvious reasons.

4) What did you find good about the 2010/11 season?
The end of it!!! Seriously, I think we showed that we could compete with most of the top sides even with all the problems we endured.

5) And the thing(s) you found most bad?
Most frustrating is SC’s refusal to try to bring kids through. Last game of the season at Scunny, neither team could gain much from the game, so why didn’t he try the youngsters that he claims weren’t good enough?

6) How many games did you attend in the 2010/11 season?
Approx 15 – work in Stoke so it isn’t that easy BUT I am a season ticket holder for next season as i don’t have to work weekends.

7) Do you have any idea what you plans for attendance in 2011/12 will be?
Every Saturday home match but wont get to the Tuesday night games.

8) So, onto Steve Cotterill – what are your thoughts on the boss?
Mixed, I wanted to back him to the hilt but I struggle now as he won’t attempt to back the youngsters. They may not be good enough but, then again, they might just thrive. As mentioned above the Scunny game would have been ideal to try them out and give them an experience.

On the plus side, he does seem to want to so the job and that makes him half decent as many would have run away from the mess we were.

9) Who did you think was the most impressive loanee we had in 2010/11?
Ritchie De Late – no doubt WHATSOEVER!!!! Very composed and classy and a huge boost if we can keep him.

10) What about the least effective and impressive loanee Cotterill brought in last term?
Sonko – again UNDOUBTEDLY although VERY closely followed, ability wise, by Dicko. But I have always said I will not moan too loudly at players who try their hearts out.

11) Favourite memory/game of 2010/11 was?
Not much to choose from, for me, but the 6-1 demolition of Leicester on my birthday was enjoyable (even if it did get me in trouble in the South Stand for being too vocal and being told that ‘we don’t sing here’ by a mates father!!!). Needless to say I have got my season ticket in another part of the ground.)

12) What about your worst moment/game in 2010/11?
I was so disappointed at the Derby away game as we were on such a run at the time, it was on TV and there was a big crowd there – and we just did not turn up. And I had to get a £40 taxi from Stoke to the game as i managed to wait on the wrong platform for the train!!!!!!

13) You player of the season for 2010/11 and why?
Ritchie De Late – classy and just got on with the job with NO FUSS.

14) What about the least impressive player of 2010/11? Or should that be worst!
Same question as above? Sonko – Dicko.

15) What would be your Pompey hopes, aspirations or expectations for 2011/12?
Hopes are different to expectations, I hope we do well, I hope we do the scum BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY I hope we just continue to build strongly and only buy players who want to play for us. I expect us to struggle again but certainly HOPE WE don’t.
