We all support Pompey; we all have an opinion on the club so why not share this? Vital Pompey is looking for answers to a few simple questions, which NZ Portsmuff has.

Vital Pompey prides itself on the interaction we have with our members.

We like to think that we rarely claim to speak, or even say that we do speak, for all Pompey fans and instead look to gage a wider opinion from our own thoughts shared in that attempt to get the wider views shared by our fellow fans!

As such we welcomed answers to some (ideally all) of the following questions, which NZ Portsmuff was happy to do.

Here is what they said…

1) Overall thoughts of the 2010/11 season?
Happy to still be in the Championship if I am honest, I was really quite worried that we were going to face a relegation battle, especially after the first few games.

2) Who was the player sold or released (in the summer of 2010 or during the season) that we most missed in 2010/11?
Not really sold or released but for me I really missed Jamie O’Hara.

3) And the player sold or released (in the summer of 2010 or during the season) that we least missed?
Tommy Smith I think!

4) What did you find good about the 2010/11 season?
We still have a football club and we didn’t get relegated, which means we get to play scum this year, bring it on!!!

5) And the thing(s) you found most bad?
Never ending backroom bullshit drama, was sick to my teeth with it, hence my time away from this site, always looking just couldn’t be assed to post about all the negative happenings.

6) How many games did you attend in the 2010/11 season?
Sadly none, I live in New Zealand, 1600 pound per home game I cant quite afford!!!!

7) Do you have any idea what you plans for attendance in 2011/12 will be?
I am due back in Blighty in 2013 so I’m afraid it will be none again.

8) So, onto Steve Cotterill – what are your thoughts on the boss?
I think he has been judged rather harshly by some members on this site, I believe that he has done a pretty impressive job considering the size of the squad. He has maybe made a mistake or two in letting some youngsters go, but what we don’t know is how much of those
dealings were actually forced upon him, he has had a torrid year, I think he has to be given a chance to build his own team and then he can be judged on his results.

9) Who did you think was the most impressive loanee we had in 2010/11?
Halford, from the few seconds of each game that I saw on the football league show it would appear he has been a rock for us.

10) What about the least effective and impressive loanee Cotterill brought in last term?
Sonko Sonko Sonko Sonko Donkey Sonko Sonko Sonko Sonko Donkey Sonko Sonko well you get the idea!!!

11) Favourite memory/game of 2010/11 was?
Leicester 1 Pompey 6 Nuff said..

12) What about your worst moment/game in 2010/11?
Worst moment, jeez that is hard, and not because there haven’t been any, I think overall it has been the bullshit behind the scenes. Not just one particular thing, but all in all, I hate it when we give other clubs a good reason to take the piss out of us, especially when it has nothing to do with what’s happening on the pitch.

13) Your player of the season for 2010/11 and why?
Joel WARD, the young man has stood up and been counted, good to see a local lad coming through, well done!!!

14) What about the least impressive player of 2010/11? Or should that be worst!
Having not really seen any of the games this is a difficult one, but the consensus on here seems to be that Kitson has about the heart and drive as our old mate Johnny Utaka, so I’ll go with them on this one!

15) What would be your Pompey hopes, aspirations or expectations for 2011/12?
For me consolidation is the key for this coming season, we need to stay in the Championship or get promoted, we cant afford to slip any further down. We need to have a playing squad of at least 20, we need to beat Scum at least twice (might see them in the cup as well) money needs to be put into infrastructure, get the training ground and academy sorted and maybe leave the stadium for another year (been long enough anyway). I would love it personally if we got promoted because I could at least watch a few matches then, even though we probably wouldn’t be strong enough to stay up and I hate watching us getting beaten regularly, but that is the plight of the Pompey Fan!

16) And finally add anything else you would like here…
To our new Ruski friends, time for us to feel the fabric of your fibre! We as Pompey fans need to see some action, we need a playing squad to be assembled. If this could be done prior to pre-season that would be a huge bonus, it would be good to start a season on the front foot for a change!!!
