We get to know a little more about UKTony.

1 – Vital Pompey username?
UKTony; it comes from a family get together/holiday in Australia in 1999 (all my wife’s family have emigrated to Melbourne and the suburbs). My brother-in-law is also called Tony, so I was labeled UKTony to avoid confusion.

2 – Where do you come from/where do you currently live?
I was born in Epsom, Surrey and have lived in Whitehill, Hampshire for just over 3 years.

3 – How long have you been a Vital Pompey member?
Since November 2007.

4 – What do you think of Vital Pompey? Be brutally honest!
Absolutely brilliant! Being naturally shy, it took me a while to sign up and make my first contribution. The feedback and comments I got from everyone made me feel more than welcome. I think the member’s make it; there’s no putting anyone down and the knowledge and banter is terrific.

5 – How did you find out about Vital Pompey?
News now, then Vital Newcastle!

6 – When did you first watch Pompey live – not on box unless this is the only way you have been able to see them? Not necessarily at Fortress Fratton though.
1st April 1967 vs. Blackburn Rovers at Fratton. Not such a fortress in those days. I vaguely remembered it was Easter, but eastneydave came up with the precise date.

7 – How often do you get to watch Pompey?
I’m a season ticket holder this year, for the first time, so go to all the home games. I also try to get to 4-5 away games in a season, usually in London.

8 – Who is your favourite Pompey Player – current and/or former?
There have been so many over the years. When I first started following them, it was John Milkins and Ray Hiron. Then Colin Garwood and Jeff Hemmerman in the 70’s and Yosser Tait, Noel Blake and Alan Biley in the 80’s. I admire anyone who gives their all, irrespective of team performances or results. At the moment I would have to say Linvoy Primus; let’s hope he’s back soon.

9 – What is you favourite Pompey moment?
It has to be the two Alan Biley goals against Oxford in December ’84. One of my few forays in to the Fratton End and the place was rocking. Did you know that it was his mother`s birthday that day?

10 – What are your realistic hopes for Pompey in the future?
Consistently challenge the “big 4” over the next 2-3 years, so that the media wake up to the fact that we have a good side. Then they can start talking about the “big 5”.

Makes a mess of “head to head” weekends though!
