We get to know a little more about tracyc.

1 – Vital Pompey username?
tracyc.

2 – Where do you come from/where do you currently live?
My family came from the edge of South London, we moved down here as I started school, and all my roots are in Pompey – I moved away for a while, as a student, but always came back. Grew up in Bedhampton, but now live in Stamshaw (actually nearer the new Stadium on Horsea Island than all the Port Solent people who are complaining.) And work in the city too – so I’m a Pompey girl.

3 – How long have you been a Vital Pompey member?
Not long – Only a couple of weeks I think. Maybe 3 weeks. (this was written at least a month and a half ago though.)

4 – What do you think of Vital Pompey? Be brutally honest!
I really like it, it’s a really friendly vibe, and often the comments make me laugh. So much nicer than websites like 606, which tends to annoy me. Am I the only lady member though?

5 – How did you find out about Vital Pompey?
The usual way – by accident – I think it was Google.

6 – When did you first watch Pompey live – not on box unless this is the only way you have been able to see them? Not necessarily at Fortress Fratton though.
It was so long ago I can’t remember who we played, about 25 years ago. A short while after I went to my first away game at Huddersfield Town, it was Neil Webb’s last game, we had 3 sides of the ground – and it was the afternoon of the Bradford Fire.

7 – How often do you get to watch Pompey?
As far as live matches go, it’s increasing rapidly. Last season it was a friendly plus 3 (2 home 1 away) this year I’ve been to exactly that already, plus 2 more planned (Liverpool away, Arsenal home) before the end of this year – and hopefully more after that. If I can’t go usually there’s a pub to be found that shows the foreign feeds from Sky (don’t tell anyone) – if not I listen on the Quay. In fact since I’ve got in the habit of seeing almost all the matches in this way, its made me want to go to more live matches. (again, this was written at least a month and a half ago.)

8 – Who is your favourite Pompey Player – current and/or former?
There are so many right now, most of the current squad really, past players like Mark Hateley, Vince Hilaire come to mind – but I really do love Jamo, so it has to be him. I’m still pinching myself that players like him and Sol play for us.

9 – What is you favourite Pompey moment?
I was tempted to say the 2-0 win at the Dell in 1988 – but I’m going to go for Darren Anderton’s goal against Liverpool in the FA cup semi-final – for 8 minutes we were going to the final, but then it all went wrong.

10 – What are your realistic hopes for Pompey in the future?
Its very exciting at the moment isn’t it. I do think UEFA cup football is realistic with the present squad. And I don’t want to keep my feet on the ground at all!
