We get to know a little more about powered_by_pies.

1 – Vital Pompey username?
powered_by_pies.

2 – Where do you come from/where do you currently live?
Born in St Anne’s in Southampton (boo! hiss!), my home is in Locks Heath, and I live in Bournemouth at the moment because of university.

3 – How long have you been a Vital Pompey member?
Good question! Not long – a few months or so? I can’t remember when I signed up! (Written in March 2009)

4 – What do you think of Vital Pompey? Be brutally honest!
A great fan-run website, with dedicated Frattonista’s who write thought-provoking and balanced articles, and a message board that treats everyone’s opinions fairly.

5 – How did you find out about Vital Pompey?
News now, it was an article written by Chix (I think).

6 – When did you first watch Pompey live – not on box unless this is the only way you have been able to see them? Not necessarily at Fortress Fratton though.
I can rarely see the blues ‘live’ because I work weekends to keep the beer fund up, and I’ll happily admit I haven’t been following them for long, but I finally managed to go and see them when they played Vitoria Guimaraes in the UEFA cup first leg. The atmosphere was incredible, and I loved every second of it. I’m desperate to get back again!

7 – How often do you get to watch Pompey?
Again, because of work, very rarely. I listen to most of the matches on the Quay radio station, which always involves me jumping out to the stock room every five minutes at work to check on the score!

8 – Who is your favourite Pompey Player – current and/or former?
Current has to be either Johnson, James, Nugent, Couch or Belhadj, the first four because they seem genuinely determined to play as a unit and for the team. I like Belhadj because I can see great potential from him. Give him a couple of seasons so he can get his temper sorted out, and I can see him being a big name. Former players has to be the likes of Lua-Lua, Mendes, Muntari and Benjani, and also Robert Prosinecki, just because he was a mad-man!

9 – What is you favourite Pompey moment?
There’s been so many in such a short space of time! The FA cup quarter final of last year, the great escape, the AC Milan match – but I think the all-time best was seeing Sol lift the F.A cup, as it showed how far we’d come, especially after so many had always written us off.

10 – What are your realistic hopes for Pompey in the future?
To survive relegation this season, then to see an experienced, professional manager come in and re-build the squad back to what it was last season, and also to see Gaydamak sell us to someone who has a passion for the club’s evolution – and who has stacks of cash!
