Pentonpompey. After a little village where I lived just outside Andover…Penton Mewsey.
2 – Where do you come from/where do you currently live?
Born and Bred in Whitchurch, currently living in Andover.
3 – How long have you been a Vital Pompey member?
Since the end of last season.
4 – What do you think of Vital Pompey? Be brutally honest!
Superb site, friendly, good banter, a lot of people with our beloved Pompey at heart.
5 – How did you find out about Vital Pompey?
Just Googled Portsmouth Forums…I think???
6 – When did you first watch Pompey live – not on box unless this is the only way you have been able to see them? Not necessarily at Fortress Fratton though.
In the 90’s v Norwich. A Draw, but I fell in love. (My father was lucky to have seen our double Championship winning team.) So I thank him, it’s because of him, I’ve lost hair, had heart murmurs, sweaty palms, moods…good and bad!, Shouted, screamed, cheered, roared, loved, lost, won and have a life long love affair, one of the few things I cannot pass on to my sons in my will, but which is priceless!!!
7 – How often do you get to watch Pompey?
Not enough!! I’m a member, as is my brother his wife and my girlfriend. Regardless of how many times we see them I always renew my membership. I took my youngest (3yrs) to the Kanu Game in the summer, he LOVED it!! so another lifer there then…(if you look at my photo’s in the forum, you’ll see us at the game) along with the boy eating hotdog!!
8 – Who is your favourite Pompey Player – current and/or former?
Krunchie, simple as that. I was so thrilled we signed him as I could see his potential, so glad he’s starting to mature and come good. Oh yes and Linvoy!! how can you not respect that man?
Paul Mariner, Peter Mellor???? Don’t ask me, Guy Whittingham, Peter Marinello, Andy Awford, Paul Merson, Prosinecki, Darren Anderton (always thought he was different class) Alan Biley, Vince Hilaire, Bruno the list goes on, and for weird and wonderful reasons.
9 – What is you favourite Pompey moment?
Several; the first time I saw the pitch…it blew me away. 92 semi final, really thought we’d do it…and they couldn’t beat us. Surviving the last day with a 3-1 win over Barnsley. Winning the Championship (with style, I might add). Surviving the drop against Wigan (does anyone see a pattern forming here?) And Saturday, my pride with the way we are now; a proper footballing team, no long ball here…
10 – What are your realistic hopes for Pompey in the future?
To consolidate our position in the Premiership. To be honest I can’t ever see us in the top 4, we might knock now and again, but hey lets just be thankful! where we are, how we play and that my dad could afford the extra bus fare to Pompey and not stop short at that other place… Oh how it would have been different…Hope this all makes sense to you all…Play up Pompey!!!!
