We get to know a little more about Owenspompey.

1 – Vital Pompey username?
My user name is Owenspompey, which is quite simply my e-mail address, which my missus thinks is corny, but she is a scouser!!

2 – Where do you come from/where do you currently live?
I come from Corby Northants, and served for 12 years in the Royal Navy, based in Pompey.
I now live in Halewood Liverpool, famous for the Ford and Jaguar factories, and the Finch Farm Everton Football Academy.

3 – How long have you been a Vital Pompey member?
I have been a member of Vital Pompey for about 9 months

4 – What do you think of Vital Pompey? Be brutally honest!
I love the website, and when I work away and cant get on a computer I have withdrawal symptoms, the chat between us fans means a lot to me and I enjoy the banter and opinions about all things football and especially MY club.

5 – How did you find out about Vital Pompey?
I found the website from a search engine which listed all the current websites, but recommended this as the most highly rated.

6 – When did you first watch Pompey live – not on box unless this is the only way you have been able to see them? Not necessarily at Fortress Fratton though.
My first game, and I still have the programme (sad I know), was at Fratton versus Middlesborough on the 25th August 1973, we lost 1-0 to an Alan Foggon goal and the ref was the great Clive Thomas, a game in the old division 2, eastneydave could confirm this for me I am sure, my first away game was at Cardiff and we drew 1-1.

7 – How often do you get to watch Pompey?
I have a season ticket, which I have had since 1980, so I go home and away whenever I can, as I have a job where I do not work any weekends, I also managed to get to Hong Kong this year, what a great time.

8 – Who is your favourite Pompey Player – current and/or former?
My favourite player currently is Linvoy, to me he epitomises everything that is good in the game, the desire to play for Pompey, help out others when he can, and the guts to prove the doubters in his ability wrong.

My past favourite/s are Robert Prosinecki a bloody soccer great, Teddy ‘the genius’ Sheringham thanks mate you helped us so much and finally Alan Knight who quite rightly is a Legend, loyalty is so rare.

9 – What is you favourite Pompey moment?
My favourite moment was the 45th minute on the 27th March 2003 when Toddy put us 3-2 up against Rotherham and we were within touching distance of the Holy Grail namely the Premiership. So long we waited but isn’t it good to be there at last.

10 – What are your realistic hopes for Pompey in the future?
I want us to be a respected Premiership outfit with numerous internationals and I want to see us in the FA Cup Final at Wembley before I die, and we are capable of doing it now.
