We get to know a little more about Lysimachus.

1 – Vital Pompey username?
Hmm, a chance to put this to bed once and for all. Lysimachus was the name of one of the four generals who divided up Alexander the Great’s empire after he died. I may be a bit of a history nut, but consider this: would it have been any better if I went for ‘pompeycambs’?

2 – Where do you come from/where do you currently live?
I was born and I currently live in Cambridgeshire, in an area not too far from the city of Cambridge itself. I plan to get as far away from this place when I leave school though.

3 – How long have you been a Vital Pompey member?
Not sure. June 06? Definitely after the great escape.

4 – What do you think of Vital Pompey? Be brutally honest!
It’s a great site. There are other unofficial Pompey sites out there of course, but Vital Pompey is part of the Vital Football network, there are fans writing articles and having a banter about their own clubs, as well as communicating with others, so there is a lot more views on a recent game concerning your club. Vital Pompey also has a large following compared to most Vital sites too.

5 – How did you find out about Vital Pompey?
Newsnow.co.uk.

6 – When did you first watch Pompey live – not on box unless this is the only way you have been able to see them? Not necessarily at Fortress Fratton though.
It was probably some Division 1 game in the mid 90s. A 3-0 drubbing in the hands of Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park I should think. Didn’t go to another game until a 2-0 Premiership defeat at St. Andrews in 2003.

7 – How often do you get to watch Pompey?
Well last season I went to 12 games. This season I’ve only been to 2, and thanks to my job I’ll rarely get the chance to go to Fratton Park. Still, there’s a lot more Pompey games on TV now.

8 – Who is your favourite Pompey Player – current and/or former?
Got to be Pedro Mendes. But to be honest this is the first season where I’ve seen more than 4 players that definitely need to start games.

9 – What is you favourite Pompey moment?
Matt Taylor’s 45 yarder against Everton of course. I thought it was going to hit the roof of the net because of the lack of reaction from the goalkeeper.

10 – What are your realistic hopes for Pompey in the future?
Well, UEFA Cup football by the end of the year, with a top 6 finish to boot. In 5 years I hope we can lay claim to some major silverware. The ultimate objective is to win the League of course.
