I know that Appy has been praised before but I think the guy deserves a little more of this.

He, despite the amazing conditions that he has had to work under almost from day one, that are even worse now – not only are both arms tied behind his back, his legs are virtually tied too – yet he continues to go about his business with so much dignity and integrity.

A good fair few could learn a thing or two from him!

‘If’, and its is still a big if but maybe not as bigger if as it was a few days ago, we make it into the new season it will be another tough one, like it always was going to be anyway. The continued drawn-out takeover process, for obvious reasons, have and will make it even tougher but if he can somehow manage to patch a squad together I am sure that he will send them out to give their all, whatever happens to them on the pitch, and retain this dignity throughout…

Not only will he retain his dignity he will want his players to do so, with them being asked to show passion and pride regardless.

How easy would it have been for him to ‘run away’, but he has not done this nor has he ever – really – moaned or groaned about his lot, he has just accepted these most crappy cards dealt to him and made do the best possible.

Hats off to the guy!

I, as I have said countless times, retain my thoughts that he is the best thing to happen to this club in donkies years, yet also say that I think it is just a crying shame that such a ray of light has come along at one of the darkest hours in our history.

But hey, so long as this club keeps going, and if the right owners are able to come in then in time I reckon he will still be able to build what he has hoped to do so at Fratton, but doing this in his ‘5-year plan’ may prove somewhat problematic mind…
