Harry Redknapp is still hopeful that Kanu will sign the contract Pompey has offered him.

He officially became a free agent 10 days ago, but still nothing has been agreed – either with him signing the 1-year contract on offer, or a move away. And Redknapp said to sky sports news ‘he did fantastic for us, he scored two goals in his first game and 12 in the season.

‘He is a smashing footballer, a good lad as well, and I hope to sort something out to have him next year’.

My brother text me last night when I was out to say that there were reports that Kanu had agreed to sign the contract, which surprised me a little. But then I found out that nothing had been signed, so we still do not know what is going to happen with him.

All along I have said I will be happy with whatever is decided – if it is best for Pompey that he stays I am happy with that, but if it is best for Pompey that he goes I will be happy with that too – this thinking remains the case.

This is a situation that needs to be sorted out one way or the other now though, as it has dragged on for far too long.

PLAY UP POMPEY!
