And then there were three…
We are now down to just three senior players with Kanu’s departure confirmed on Monday.
His 14-day ‘notice to quit’ was issued back along after his failure to return to pre-season training prompted a battle, well continued battle, between him, his lawyer and our administrator.
The final outcome was the decision not to return to Fratton, although Kanu has put in a claim for £3m in unpaid earnings!
Kanu’s departure is another plus for Pompey but ‘if’ his claim for monies running into the millions is upheld, with a tribunal being asked to decide this, we are almost certainly done for.
So, that is another battle won; now we await the outcome of the next – which MUST be quick in coming…
As far as ‘potential’ player arrivals go Lloyd Sam and David Preece will not be among them as they have moved on following trial spells having been told that they would not be offered contracts, even if we get in a position to do so.
Appy has decided to give Luke Rodgers more time to impress though but will be disappointed that Simon Gillett has opted to move on and is now training with Forest.
PLAY UP POMPEY!

Kanu departs, but at what cost?
