David James’ decent form for Pompey since his return from injury – coupled with the indifferent form of Manyoo’s Ben Foster has seen our veteran keeper recalled to the England squad.

To be honest from what I have seen of Foster this season he has been pretty poor so it is little wonder James has been recalled, although I still feel – even if this might not be the case closer to the world cup – that he will be behind Rob Green, who is the current no.1.

That said it does seem that Fabio Capello favours James as his main man? And I, Pompey blinkers off, still feel that he is our best bet up to, and including, the world cup.

This will be another boost for us as a recall to for should eliminate any doubts that he ‘might’ have been having about staying with us – not that I can see why he would as it has never been a problem before, has it?

Well done to him, and good luck to him and all our other internationals on their travels over the next 10-days or so. Now we just have to hope that they all come back fit and well for the Spurs game!
