David James, Glen Johnson and Jermain Defoe have all been included in the latest England squad for the friendlies with the USA – 28th May – and Trinidad & Tobago – 1st June.

James has been in all of Fabio Capello’s squads, starting both games while Johnson has been called, but was cut from the 31 for his first, but he did make a substitute appearance against the French. Defoe got a late call up to the squad for the Switzerland game but did not play and he was cut from his 31 against France.

Capello has again named 31 players, but it is not clear if he will again be ‘trimming this’ or if he will take all 31 players with him, which I would suspect he would.

Maybe this summer we could see 3 Pompey players all on the pitch for England at the same time? This could be unlikely but I would suspect that every member of the squad will get some action so all 3 ‘should’ at least add to their caps tallies…
