I’ll Take An Unbeaten Week

|

Well, it has been another of those periods – which seem common these days, for various reasons – where I’ve had very little time, so I’ve not really been able to put much out on this site. I hate it when that happens, as writing gives me the release I need, but what can you do if time is against you…

Anyway, four points from games against Fleetwood and Burton wasn’t a bad return. However, Tuesday’s draw – in the second of our Fratton Park double header – against the Brewers feels like points dropped in many ways, right?

Now attention is starting to shift towards the trip to Accrington on Saturday, which will be another big game for Pompey and a potential indication of our true promotion credentials, at least possibilities.

Pompey’s away form has been awesome this season, so far. As we all know, we’re yet to taste defeat on our travels, in fact, the Blues are often winning when we hit the road. If this away form could be mirrored at home the Blues would streak away with League One. Taking said form into account, confidence is likely to be high again on Saturday I would think?

Yes, dropped points at Fratton Park will always be disappointing, after all, points on your home patch are seen as the bread and butter.

That being said, if we can get through another week without defeat, which has included two difficult home games and the upcoming one at Accrington, that isn’t going to be too shabby.

So, it wouldn’t be bad if we came through these games with five points, would it? If, not that I’m expecting it, we can win at Stanley a seven-point haul would be great, easily making up for those dropped against Burton.
