‘An attacking central midfielder’, not my vote, yours – although these findings from pompeyrug’s poll are thoughts that I agree with, and have for some time to be honest…

Granted it is not as easy as saying ‘I want it, so I get it’ for Steve Cotterill, and of course our owners want to be careful, as they should, although it is ‘said’ that we are ready – for the right players, at the right costs – to do business in the loan market this week.

Midfield, with 59%, was previously the position that the Vital Pompey viewers felt was the area we most need strengthening and someone to give us an attacking outlet from a central area is without a doubt something that I think we do need to bring in, so fingers crossed…

Hayden Mullins and Mikey Brown are, for me, doing a very good job in the middle of the park but they are never really going to have that attacking flair, and ability, that I think we need?

The final killer pass, or an occasional reluctance to shoot when the chance presents itself ‘seems’ to highlight this.

‘If’ we had the numbers part of me thinks that moving Liam Lawrence into a central role ‘might’ not be a bad shout as he does have that attacking instinct and can pick out a pass, but would we then be short elsewhere on the field?

We have until Thursday, I think it is Thursday, at 5pm to bring in anymore emergency loans and I would have it as a no.1 priority to look to pull out all the stops to bring in this central figure, with an attacking intent, if at all humanly possible…

  • What the poll asked – We felt a midfielder was needed but what area?

  • How you voted – Central – attacking 82%
    Central – defensive 10%
    Left-sided 4%
    Right-sided 4%

Before we move on what are your thoughts on what the last poll concluded? You know what to do, thoughts below please guys…
