Ok, I know. It’s a silly title in many ways really, as who would be happy with a Plymouth win? The travelling Argyle fans aside of course.
It’s back to Fratton Park this afternoon as Pompey welcome old foe Plymouth to the south coast. Then again “welcome” probably isn’t a word too many would use, as the Blues and Argyle aren’t exactly good friends, are we?
Anyhow, Plymouth, much the same as the start to last season, in many ways, have been shocking in the opening weeks of this campaign. Thumped by League One leaders Peterborough last weekend, let’s hope they don’t recover positively at Fratton… which would be typical!
We can’t take this, or any other game, for granted, but I must say I fancy us to maintain our unbeaten league record. Well, put it this way if Plymouth left with all three points I’d not be at all happy.
At Fratton, we should ALWAYS be looking for the points and be going on the offensive. Given the attacking options open to Kenny Jackett now – further strengthened with the arrival of Andre Green and Joe Mason coming in on Friday from Wolves, which will be covered, along with Conor Chaplin’s exit – there’s really no excuse, to be fair. Attack Plymouth and I reckon we’ll see them off, ideally convincingly too. First things first though, I’ll just take a win.
To finish, as briefly mentioned above, I have not overlooked and/or ignored the fact Chaplin has now left Pompey and Mason has arrived, I simply haven’t had time to cover this! I’ll do this ASAP with my own take on both, but do have to work this weekend.
So, any post-game thoughts then peeps?
