Pompey return to action after the International break, and its straight back to the relegation battle for those who have hob-nobbed it with their Countries.

No major injury worries over our jet-setters, so after success on the international stage for our 3 England stars and Croatian, its time to turn the continental form on for Pompey

Vital Quotes:

Paul Hart has been singing the praises of Crouch this week, he has massaged his ego where Cappelo chooses the more aloof approach.
Crouch himself has admitted that he would pick himself for every game, so the big man doesn’t lack the self-belief!
Hart himself is refusing to put a points total on our next 3 games, obviously 9 points would be on the agenda, but anything we take out of our trips on the road are considered a bonus, and its home form you would consider to be where the points will come from, Hull though will be as concerned as Pompey for a result, and no doubt they will be grateful for anything they take from the game also.

Hull Team News:

Hull look like missing out on the sevices of Andy Dawson aftyer he pulled his thigh at Wigan, Ashbee may return though after a break.
Daniel Cousin is a doubt with a sore back, while Zayatte came through a game for Guinea with no complications.

Player to watch: Geovanni

Geovanni pulled on a Pompey shirt for a friendly a couple of years back, he started the season in electric form scoring from all angles, that form has dipped of late, but if he finds it again it will mean trouble.

Pompey Team News:

Pompey have Pennant available again after the International break gave his calf injury time to heal, this will give Hart the option of fielding his favoured first 11, it would be harsh on Kaboul after a solid game against Everton, but Hart has made his priorities clear.
Gekas looks likely to dip out once more, his goal last week for Greece in Israel was well taken, but his petulance looks to have cost him a chance.
Basinas will contest Mullins for a central berth.

Player to watch: Crouch

Crouchie is in fine form once more, and how the Pompey fans would love to see one of his stupid goal routines in a blue shirt!

Match Facts & Stats

A 2-2 draw at Fratton earlier in the season, this was during our run of letting last minute goals in, and took the edge off of Johnson’s goal of the season contender.

Any result will do for Pompey besides defeat, but what is your guess? Place it just about here.
