‘Avram Grant will not become the next Pompey manager’, not my vote, yours – although these findings from The Rabbi’s poll are thoughts that I agree with, to an extent…
I think it is fair to say that my initial reaction, and I would say it is a fair reaction, was ‘Grant will take over as the boss before too long.’
And, lets be honest here, there is – assuming we cannot build on recent performances and string some results together – every chance that a change could, well in fact would be made. Although I do not believe that Grant has been brought in to be Hart’s replacement, he is not hovering above him waiting to step into his shoes – ‘maybe’ he ‘could’ in time, but that is not the purpose of the appointment.
Grant has a wealth of experience that can only help Hart, so as long as he takes this constructive input onboard it can only be a good thing for Pompey, so everyone, in theory, is a winner – it gives Hart a helping hand with the technical issues and also takes some of the media issues from him, as I am sure that the former Israeli manager will help with this as well.
This is another part of the restructuring of the club, but – and again I stress this is not what I want – we do have that ‘back-up plan’ in place should we not turn things around, as Grant would be the obvious choice to turn to.
All in all lets view this appointment as the positive step it is intended to be and a move that is in the clubs best interests.
Before we move on what are your thoughts on what the last poll concluded? You know what to do, thoughts below please guys…
