Harry Redknapp has blasted Lua Lua for wasting this season. The player has just returned from injury having also suffered off the field problems. The rumours doing the rounds are that Portsmouth are ready to off-load the player at the end of the season should he not start performing.
Harry said;
‘Lua’s had a season of waste. He’s got to do something. He needs to do something. He’s not done anything. We need Lualua to come good.
‘He did his ankle when he did the backflip against Arsenal and that was the end of him for last season. That finished him. Lua’s hardly played this season again. He needs to play, we need him out there.
‘He scored four goals in a row for us last year before his injury. At that time when he got injured you couldn’t really see us doing well without him. You thought ‘well that’s the end of us really, we’re not going to survive’.
‘We did, though. Now we need him back. He’s okay and played for the full 90 minutes on Monday night in the reserves at Watford. We’re not scoring goals at the moment, not the strikers or the midfield. We need that something he can give and it’s time he did that for us. It’s been too long.’
Lua Lua doesn`t pass the ball; you don`t need to be a Pompey fan to know that. Fans get very frustrated when he loses the ball and rightly so. However many fans will say his best performance was during the 4-1 massacre of Southampton. He may have scored some fantastic goals but he didn`t pass in that game either! I personally believe you have to take the good with the bad from Lua Lua.
