Harry Redknapp has told a national newspaper that he wouldn`t be interested in the England job. Why would he?

You can`t make deals as England boss!

Although he probably would find a way of bringing an unknown foreigner into the England side.

Redknapp said:

‘I like Steve McClaren. He’s a nice fellow with a hard job. And with Terry Venables alongside him, you would think it would be quite strong. But it’s an incredibly hard job for anyone. The pressure is murder. It’s hard for whoever’s in charge. A lot good managers have been unable to do it.

Glenn Hoddle, Sir Bobby Robson, Graham Taylor, Kevin Keegan – they’ve all come in and got slaughtered. The FA have tried everything. They brought in a foreign manager in Sven-Goran Eriksson, but no-one knew how he wanted to play.

‘I always felt that Hoddle was a manager who knew what he wanted, playing from the back with a sweeper. But since then, there’s been no real pattern to what we do.

‘They’ve got to stick with McClaren. Otherwise, where do they go? Last summer it was between Alan Curbishley, Sam Allardyce and Stuart Pearce for the job. But since then Stuart Pearce and Alan Curbishley have not had a good time. They’re fighting for their jobs.

‘Sam Allardyce is the only one that’s done well this season. That just shows you how quickly it can all change.’

‘I wouldn’t want to be in an office in Soho Square every day, sitting around. I’d rather be around players every day.’

I think Harry would do a better job than Steve McClaren!
