PSV have apparently approached Kanu, who, under FIFA regulations is permitted to talk to other clubs. Portsmouth have made an improved offer to Kanu which would keep him at the club until the end of the 2007/2008 season.

Harry Redknapp has revealed to the local paper, that it isn`t the end of the world if Kanu does decide to join the likes of Real Madrid;

‘If Kanu decides he wants to move on and doesn’t want to accept the offer we make him, then he’ll move on.

‘If he doesn’t want to take up his option on another year and says he wants to go to Real Madrid or somewhere, then he can go. I would love to keep him here. He’s a terrific player and a great guy, and as far as I know he’s happy here.

‘But if they move on, then you move on yourself and find somebody else. That’s life. The club goes on. I’ll find another striker who can do the job.’
