Another defender has arrived to help strengthen our central defence, and of course bring in a little experience too.

This defender was Gabor Gyepes.

Gyepes should be well known to Pompey fans, in name at least, as he spent some time training with Pompey last season but nothing came of it – until now…

The 31-year-old Hungarian international free agent has joined Pompey on the traditional ‘1-month deal’ basis for now.

Appy had this to say following his arrival: ‘We have got a couple of young centre-backs in Kevin Long and Josh Thompson, so Gabor adds a bit of experience in that area.

‘He’s played for a few clubs in England before so knows what to expect and we’re pleased to be able to add him to our squad.’

Welcome (eventually) to Pompey Gabor!
