After seeing his return to Pompey initially delayed by work permit issues Avram Grant’s re-arrival at the club has been delayed by a further week…

The delay this time is due to the unfortunate death of his father, which I am sure is something we will all pass on our condolences for.

His 82-year-old father, Meir, died over the weekend after a long illness. The funeral took place on Sunday but in accordance to Jewish custom he will spent he next 7-days in mourning, meaning he will almost certainly miss our trip to Hull on Saturday – a game that we really, really need to win, and if we do not he could well return to the club as something more than a director of football…

Once again condolences to Avram, and his family, but it will be good to finally get him in place.
