Are the monthly awards a blessing or a curse? A fair few think the latter, so Kenny Jackett missing out to Doncaster’s Grant McCann might not be a bad thing?!
It wasn’t just Jackett who missed out. Much the same as August a double win from a rival club denied Pompey, on this occasion, it was former Blues loanee John Marquis who ousted Jamal Lowe for a Donny double.

Well, shows what I know as I felt it was “in the bag” for Jackett, if not Lowe.
Do these awards act as a curse? I’ve not researched, but it is felt that quite often the club the Manager of the Month comes from does then lose the game that follows. So, based on that maybe it isn’t a bad thing? In fact, some feel the curse – even if “Stevie Wonder” must have decided the winner – has been avoided.

They’re a bad omen anyway, there is only one award that matters and that’s at the end of the season!!

So we are unbeaten and top of the league.whats KJ gotta do to win this award ?

Who’s deciding these awards? Stevie wonder!!

Yes, it is disappointing but the only thing that really matters, to be fair that much is true, would be a promotion at the end of the season.
I mean it’s ridiculous they haven’t won but the only prize that matters is promotion

Alternatively, whilst the “dreaded curse” was avoided it has been, quite rightly, pointed out McCann did actually lead Doncaster to a better month. Five straight wins came after a draw to get the month going, whereas Pompey won three and drew two.
Player wise, Marquis did also score six goals for Donny last month. Lowe only managed three; then again he acted as a catalyst for many others.
Good. Avoided the dreaded curse. In fairness though, Doncaster’s results were better than ours (DWWWW v WDWDW) and Marquis scored 6 goals in September v Jamal’s 3.

Hey ho, I did think Jackett would win this but all things considered, McCann probably was the worthy winner and fair play to him.
I’m not convinced by the “curse” element of the award, but there’s no disputing the most important thing is we keep our start going and look to claim the gongs at the end of the season, coming when promotion – all being well – has been secured.
