‘Reports’ this evening are ‘claiming’ that Pompey are the ‘front runners’ to in the ‘race’ to sign Amr Zaki but an interest in Ross McCormack has been ended due to the price being too high…

According to Zaki’s agent, Nader Shawqi and what he has apparently ‘exclusively’ told Goal.com, as the striker only want to play in the premier league Pompey are the only club in the running for him: ‘the only offer we have for Amr in England is from Portsmouth.

‘Amr is only interested in Premier league.’

Malaga are ‘said’ to have made a ‘firm offer’ for the Egyptian but the premier league is where he wants to play. This begs the question, if Pompey are the only side that are in for him from the premier league, and this is a move he wants, then why has his agent said anything?

Could it be that he is trying to drum up more interest in his client…

As for McCormack, according to Wales Online, an apparent interest the in Cardiff striker has today been dropped.

Enquires were ‘said’ to have been made yesterday but with a £5m price tag put on the Scottish international we are said to have walked away.
