If you are not going to play by the rules as a gambling organisation then you would think that you would give yourself a name other than ‘Betfair’ would you not?

Well, this betting giant has finally agreed to go the way of most, if not all others, by paying out on bets placed on Paul Hart becoming the new Pompey manager. Originally they had refused to do so as they claimed Pompey had told them that he remained only a caretaker manager, and the books on who would become the next manager were reopened…

Following yet another Pompey statement to clarify a situation that said this was not the case and no one from PFC had told anyone at Betfair this they themselves have now announced ‘all bets placed before we suspended the market on Tuesday evening will be settled with Paul Hart as the winner.’

Of course people will keep gambling with them, but they – well Pompey fans anyway – may well think twice about this with Betfair in the future following this unsavoury incident…
